Tuesday Try This- Keurig 2.0

My holiday season started earlier than expected this year when Influenster sent me a Vox Box. This box was the Keurig 2.0. Those of you that know me, you know I love to stop for  a Tim Horton's mocha in the morning. This Keurig is going to change those morning stops. The 2.0 version is fantastic because it not only brews the single K-cups, it will also brew the larger 4 cup K-Cups.  The appliance looks great on my counter and you can see in the pictures the water container is on the side. The front of the Keurig 2.0 has a handle to open the front to allow the  K-cups to go in and a touch screen that operates the machine easily.

When you turn the Keurig 2.0 on you will see the preheating symbol. It takes less than two minutes to heat up which is amazing!

The K-cup holder is underneath the front of the machine. The handle lifts up easily so you can place the K-cup inside. When the K-cup is inside the circle holder the handle can be pushed back down.

When you are ready to brew push the button in the middle of the front panel and VOILA! the machine magically begins to brew you a perfect cup.

My favourite function on the machine is that is has the ability to dispense extra hot water in case you want a fuller cup. You can choose how much water you would like, and the machine does all the work.

Here is my finished product, a Laura Secord Hot Chocolate. The Keurig 2.0 is so easy to use, trust me if I can figure it out it has to be easy.

This Keurig would make a great gift for anyone on your list who enjoys a special blend of coffee. I was totally taken back by the amount of K-cups available, including hot chocolates and teas. I am so thankful that Influenster sent me this product.

Monday Musings (Holiday Visiting)

With the holidays right around the corner I know a lot of you are out visiting friends and family. This is what I tend to do the most of, I love going to cozy houses, bringing treats and catching up with loved ones. All of my previous holiday looks have been evening party looks, but when I head out to visit I do like to dress more casually. This blanket scarf has served me well this season and of course the colours scream holiday season. I showed this White House Black Market coat earlier in the season and since it has not been terribly cold the weight makes it really easy to wear.  These black jeans are perfect for going out, they are so comfortable, and easy to sit or stand in for long periods of time.

Of course when I go visiting I always like to bring a gift for the hostess and sometimes extra gifts for kids. I may have to do a post on how much I love wrapping paper  at some point in the near future but for now let me know what you like to wear visiting.

Tuesday Try This- Nine West Pick a Pump!

Sunday School

Happy Sunday!

It's that time of the year when the Elf on the Shelf has found it's way into our Kindergarten class. The Elf arrived this week in a wrapped package with a letter, and some other items it needed for the long journey (a tissue paper pillow, two half eaten crackers, and some marshmallows). The students were so excited to see the Elf that we named it Sparkle. Here is the letter from Sparkle.

We all made the Elf some items that it would need while staying with us, a table, bed, and we made some books for the Sparkle to read. One of our students decided Sparkle was hungry so she left her chocolate bars. In return, Sparkle brought two packages of smelly markers since he or she overheard that our markers were getting dry.

 Now onto some other happenings in our room, we were getting creative with the letter J this week, some students have started to make jaguars, and some are just decorating it anyway they like.

This boy took our linking/snap cubes and made a guitar, this was too amazing to not share a picture of.

We are finding our students like to go through paper very quickly so we are trying to encourage them to use our 'beautiful junk' in the classroom. This was very creative of a student who said he was making a robot. This is a great way to get our students to use their creativity.

Lastly, we are busy getting ready for our Christmas concert, these are the stars that will be on top of our costumes, can you guess what we will be? OR what song we are singing?

How To Thursdays- Create a Classic Holiday Look

I hope you are having a great December so far, I know I am having fun planning some great holiday looks to show on the blog. I actually do not attend too many holiday parties due to having a little one  at home, so the blog is my way of showing my favourite holiday party looks. I love  a classic look for a holiday soiree, as I know I will always get more use out of the the items. For my second holiday look, I have taken a simple black and white dress, and used accessories that sparkle to create a classic look. Please be careful with simple black and white looks as you can tend to blend in with the staff serving the guests. Make sure you add some sparkle or a hint of colour to the outfit somewhere. This red coat with a faux fur collar really helps to add that hint, or in this case, 'pop' of colour. The simple jewelled belt breaks up this dress very nicely.I decided to keep the shoes simple but do not be afraid to choose a shoe with some sparkle, or a shoe with great details.

Here are my tips for creating a classic holiday look:

1. Choose foundation pieces that you know you will wear again (in this case the black and white dress).

2. Accessorize using sparkle, or colour, in a belt, necklace, shoes, or jewellery.

3. Make sure you feel great in your outfit, do not be uncomfortable in your clothes before leaving. For example. I tend to stay away from outfits that require me to wear a strapless bra because I know I will be fiddling all night with the top of my dress or top.

Tuesday Try This- MICRO Pedi

I finally found the perfect stocking stuffer for the holiday season. This stocking stuffer is great for both men and women, and is a necessity in your bathroom. What is this fabulous product you ask? The MICRO Pedi by Emjoi, I know you are all asking why is this a necessity and what is it? The MICRO Pedi is a safe at home alternative to the salon pedicures we all love. This device is battery powered and works on all areas of your feet by removing rough and hard skin leaving your feet smooth and soft. Imagine that foot filer paddle looking item you use in the shower, and reinvent it so that it spins using battery power. If you hate filing your manually, (let's be honest who doesn't) you need the MICRO Pedi. 

The MICRO Pedi device has an on/off slide button, a circular filing device and is about the length of my hand. The handle on this device is wonderful as I can easily grasp it and it is comfortable to hold.

The blue filing roller spins quite fast when the device is turned on. The spinning action gently files cracked skin off of the foot.

On the side of the MICRO Pedi is a slide button that will release the blue roller so that it can be cleaned using the small white brush included in the package.

The roller slides out and snaps back into place easily. The MICRO Pedi does have two different roller options, the blue which is included and golden blue for that extra coarse skin (this can be purchased separately).

When using the MICRO Pedi find an area of your foot that has rough or cracked skin.  Turn it on and angle the MICRO Pedi towards the area. Touch the MICRO Pedi on the rough or cracked skin and move the device up and down or side to side. You will see your skin dusting off of your foot. Keep going until you feel the rough or cracked skin is gone.

When I got the MICRO Pedi my husband tried it (he loves to try new products) and the first thing he said was, "this is great". There is a MICRO Pedi Man device for all the special men in your life which would also make a great stocking stuffer.
