Blanket Scarf + Giveaway!
One of the most popular trends for fall is the blanket scarf. I normally do not like to wear a scarf around my neck and this is my take on how to wear the blanket scarf. I turned it into a cape-like clothing item, and I think the results are fabulous! Due to the fact, that I love this blanket scarf so much I am giving the exact same Joe Fresh one away and a similar clutch!! Use the Rafflecopter widget in the post by clicking through and entering!

Thankful for Kindergarten
As this is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend I thought I would share what I am thankful for in Kindergarten. As a teacher who has been teaching for thirteen years I never saw myself as a Kindergarten teacher. I thought these teachers were a special breed that I just didn't fit into, Kindergarten teachers are always so soft spoken, nurturing for childrens' basic needs, and generally happy. I am all of these things except soft spoken, I have a bit of louder personality! When I had my son, I began to see myself as being more of that Kindergarten personality. So this year I did it! I took the plunge and took a new job at a new school teaching Kindergarten! It has been a lovely 6 weeks so far, and I feel I have learned so much and now I only see myself as a Kindergarten teacher! Here is what I am thankful for...
I am thankful for my classroom, as small as it is! We make it work.
I love when the students go to our art shelf and help themselves to what they need to create. This has taken a few weeks but the students are loving using all of the items on this shelf.
I am thankful for the wonderful thinking that our students do everyday! We explore new things and discover as we go. One of the first things we explored was this cricket, that our students thought was a grasshopper.
I love that our class works together so well. Don't get me wrong, we do have our share of challenging students, but every child is so caring and loving towards eachother. Here we are decorating the number 1 with things that make us special.
I am so thankful for the wonderful buildings students create! I love asking the children what they have created and how they did it. This structure was almost as tall as the student himself, it was fun to measure if the structure was taller than other students in the class.
One thing I am not so great at teaching is Math (yes teachers have a weak subject area too). Here we are using ten frames, I admit I was moving a bit too fast with this activity. I was so thankful the students tried this math activity with the ten frames.
I love how our students can make excellent choices! We often create charts like this to show what the students liked that day.
I am thankful for how my choice there is in the Kindergarten program. We read a story and then students chose if they wanted to do do this activity or not. In the good 'ole days every student would have to do many activities they did not want to.
Look at what the students can make with building blocks! I would have never thought of this! After this creation we sorted and counted the blocks we used to make this.
The last thing I am thankful for is my amazing partner and Early Childhood Educator. We are truly partners and we work well as a team! She has such great ideas to share and we always have the best interest of the children at heart!

Trench (with La Belle Sirene)
La Belle Sirene and I have decided to collaborate once again for another edition of Style Saturday. This week we each decided to show our version of the trench coat, will it surprise you when I say I have three trench coats? Black, Khaki and Pink.
We each decided to use stripes as our outfit and we each have a great camel coloured bag that we accessorized with. I absolutely adore collaborating with Courtney from La Belle Sirene and I am looking forward to more fashionable posts in the future!Shop my look

Custom Creations with Eshakti
As women we know how hard it is to find amazing fitting clothing that seems like it is 'custom made' for our size and shape. Good news! Finally, a business has listened to what we are asking for, Eshakti is an online clothing shop that will add customizations to an item of clothing for you. The sizes range from 0-36, and what is amazing is that you pick your clothing item and then customize it based on what you like. You can only imagine how excited I was when Eshakti asked me to do a product review for them. I chose this gorgeous green dress, and then I added elbow length sleeves and a knee length skirt. When shopping on the Eshakti site you can change necklines, sleeves, length and add or take away embroidery on a clothing item. The options are endless! The fabric of this dress is lovely and I would recommend Eshakti highly! I was thrilled with the process.

Kindergarten Review
Another fun week in Kindergarten, we started by creating this amazing Mega Block set with letters and numbers. It was a hit the students enjoyed trying to put it back together.
We introduced table top games this week, one of our games was a domino game. Students had to line up 5 or 10 dominos and knock them over. The dominos have never been used so much!
Another game was to match our letter box items with their starting letter, here we are just pulling them off the top of the box. The picture below shows our playdough mats being used as sorting mats. The students really enjoyed this game. We were all familiar with the items in the box as we pull them out each week. Finding the letter that matched the beginning sound of the item was challenging.
We also had a dice table top game. We used bingo dotters and had students roll the dice and try to find the numeral that matched the dice number and then they stamped that number. This was a HUGE hit as our voting chart after we did the three activities clearly show the dice game was favoured.
Since our letter was 'D' this week we learned about Dinosaurs, we read the story, "If You Happen to Have a Dinosaur". We then drew and wrote what we would with our pet dinosaurs.
We turned letter 'D' into a dinosaur this week! WOW!! How creative!
Can you spot what letter is missing? We are so close to being done our tactile alphabet!
For Food Friday this week we brought in a dragonfruit. We explored this fruit by putting in a paper bag and having students touch it without seeing it. They loved this, it was informative to hear what they thought it was. It was also a great way for them to use describing words and their other senses.
Thanks so much for reading!!

Apricot Collection+Giveaway!
I am so honoured to be teaming up with Apricot Collection (from Ontario, Canada) today. Apricot Collection (fashion for moms in style) is an online boutique that understands that a woman has many roles in her life, mom, wife, girlfriend, career woman. Apricot Collection's founder Michelle wants to make it easier for us women to shop for all the different roles in our life by hand picking some of the most gorgeous clothing pieces and accessories. For Apricot Collection it all comes down to transforming an outfit from work, to home, to a night out. The size range is fantastic from small to plus-size (trust me ladies, you will want to see the selection). I chose to show the 'Bonnie' dress on the blog today, this dress is one of the nicest I have ever owned. The material is very thick, and the floral pattern has a gorgeous sheen so it appears as if it is sparkling. There are even hidden zippered pockets on the sides of the dress.
